This worked! Had XP Antivirus Pro 2016 on my desk PC. The malware was blocking use of Internet Explorer, so had to load StopZilla from my laptop by thumbdrive. StopZilla found and isolated it (along with 6 other malware not previously detected). 4 other well rated products failed to remove or fix, including the Microsoft patch, MalwareBytes, and my full service resident Norton 360. THANKS!

I’ve had to fix the damage from this virus 2 times already because my sister keeps downloading it again. Now I’m trying to fix it for the 3rd time. I’ve cleared it off of the computer already with Norton 360. I checked the processes, files, and registry for traces of the virus and haven’t found any. However, Internet Explorer still won’t run, and many, if not all of the system tools will no longer run either. On her Vista laptop I had to do system restores after getting rid of the virus, but with the XP desktop, System restore keeps failing, saying that it can’t go back to any of the numerous restore points, and now it won’t load at all. If anyone has experienced this and fixed it, I would greatly appreciate some instruction.
