File Recovery (FileRecovery) Virus

File Recovery, also known as FileRecovery, is a new fake computer optimization application. The program is a new version of the previous fake computer optimization application called Windows Recovery, which was released in 2011. File Recovery claims to offer a variety of services similar to a real computer optimization program such as checking the hard disk health and performing diagnostics on the drive. The program evaluates the hard disk on reliability, performance, and error resistance. The program provides a fake report which doesn’t access the actual health of the hard drive. It is best to remove the program and then install a real program to access the health of the hard disk. Windows provides a free program on their computer which is called disk defragmenter which can be used to partially access the health of the hard drive. Previous versions of File Recovery include HDD Fix, Quick Defrag, and HDD Low. The user comments for Windows Recovery may provide insight into removing File Recovery since the viruses are similar.
