What is Safe Mode?
When fixing viruses, using safe mode can be very useful. Safe mode runs your computer with just the programs which are necessary to operate the computer, allowing the user to diagnose and fix viruses in the computer. Safe mode is a diagnostic mode.
To enter into safe mode, the user needs to press F8 when the system starts up. The user will be presented with options on different modes to enter.
Sometimes viruses may block the computer from using the internet or installing certain antivirus programs. Going into safe mode may allow the user to do both of these tasks if the system in safe mode boots up without running the virus.
