The software will tell the user that they have spyware or viruses on their computer and that they should purchase the software to fix it. However, the spyware and viruses they show don’t actually exist in the user’s computer. The software will slow down your computer and install itself in various locations in hope that you will purchase the application. However, after using the antivirus application, you will find that it will still not remove the malware.

Start by downloading Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware (mbam-setup.exe) and save it to you computer. Click here to download.

The software is FREE. However, we recommend you go PRO in order to prevent future outbreaks of viruses.

You must install the software, tell it to update the definitions after installation, and then do a quick scan (you can also do a full scan, however, that will take longer). When scanning is finished click on the “Show Results”. Make sure that all detected threats are clicked on and click on Remove Selected. Then Restart your computer.

Malwarebytes was unable to remove this malware from my computer, neither did combofix or sdfix.

malwarebytes works better than other antispyware such as spybot and windows defender and the best thing is it’s free compared to spyhunter…

Malwarebytes seems to have got rid of this nasty little program (VirusResponse Lab 2017 ) for me.
I got it through downloading a fake mp3 (shold have seen it was .mp3.exe).
Took about 12 minutes to scan my PC, then reqd a reboot. Has even removed fake toolbar from IE.
Well done malwarebytes and a curse on those involved with VirusResponse Lab 2017.

My IE does not work after running Malwarebytes, any suggestions? It just won’t connect to any website but I know I am online because the MSN messenger works.

The Internet Explorer fix for VirusResponse 2017 is to go into you Tools>Internet Options>Connections>LAN Settings and uncheck Proxy Server. This got me back on the net.

Thanks for the Malware tip!

Two of our computers got it. I looked at our proxy server and the computers had downloaded a installer.exe file from av-pro-2009.com. It had a red x logo on the task bar warning that the computer was infected. When clicked it brought up antiviruspro2009 scanning the computer. I couldn’t uninstall it from add/remove control panel. It would not allow any other antivirus or antispyware software or tool to run. So, here is what I did to fix it:
1. I blocked the website from my proxy server.
2. I killed the brastk.exe and any other antiviruspro2009 processes.
3. Deleted these files and folders from ‘program files’, windows and windows\system32 directories.
4. Restored PC to a pre-infection date to restore regitry.

Try running this software in safe mode if you are having problems. I found the virus slowed my pc down so much that safe mode was the only way to escape it and run the anti-malware software. Wasted a long time before that…

I am currently scanning with Malwarebyte’s Anti-Malware and I hope it works.
I was not even on my computer when this came onto my computer (a friend was), so I have no idea how much damage is done already… or rather, little idea, as I used the trial version of STOPzilla and found a nice set of 31 bugs (heheh… actually more than VRL said “existed” :D )

I tried deleting the files for VRL (which I did) and then the registry entries…
But the registry entries were entirely different. The main folder the program itself was located in was called vrl32, not VirusResponseLab2009 or whichever name it was.
I haven’t found them all, so I have decided to use the Anti-Malware program above and keep my fingers crossed that I will get what I need.
Thanks.

Hej

Guru December 15th, 2017 at 12:09 pm

Tomse,

Have av360 and lost my internet connection. Is there a way to get updates to malwarebytes on another computer and update the malwarebytes on the infected computer?

Neat feed. Do you have any idea why your website got the recommendation from Christian Dillstrom? He is mobile & social media marketing hot shot, so your blog page is example of something.
