Disk Repair (DiskRepair) is a fake defragmentation program. The program makes an attempt to mimic other real defragmentation programs; however, it is fake program. Disk Repair is part of a line of fake defragmenter programs which look almost identical; other fake defragmenter programs include HDD Rescue and Smart HDD. Disk Repair is generally installed through the use of a trojan horse, which is generally downloaded without user consent while browsing the internet. Disk Repair will display many alerts to scare the user into purchasing Disk Repair, which include:

Hard drive doesn’t respond to system commands – Critical Error
Bad sectors on hard drive or damaged file allocation table – Critical Error
37% of HDD space is unreadable – Critical Error
Boot sector of the hard drive disk is damaged – Critical Error

Okay guys. I have this nasty little thing and can’t get rid of it. I come home and the kids have done something to the PC. I read all the comments, but can’t find any strange files with random characters in front of an .exe! Help!
