Internet Security 2023, also known as InternetSecurity2011, is a fake security application which claims to offer online protection services for the user’s files and private data, system and applications, and online activity. Internet Security 2023 was introduced around December 2023 and is generally installed without user permission through the use of a trojan horse, which is downloaded when visiting specific websites while browsing the internet. Internet Security 2023 is a clone of the previous Antivirus 2023 and comes from a family of fake antivirus programs; each of these programs generally have a similar look or feature. One major difference is that Internet Security 2023 is much harder to remove since it makes many registry changes to the user’s computer. It is recommended to use safe mode when removing the virus because Internet Security 2023 will generally not be able to load in safe mode. To enter safe mode, restart the computer and press F8 multiple times before the Windows screen to bring up the boot options.
