Hi,

A neighbor of mine has “privacy center” on her XP PC.

The problem is that it runs on start up, and when it stops running the desktop is blank except for the background.

I’m reasonably computer literate, and any ideas on how help a lady in distress would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike

Yeah,

I was able to remove the major part of the virus, but how can I get rid of the annoying “follow-up” pop ups? It seems that virus scan and removal software can’t touch these. My computer tries to reconnect itself to some website periodically. Help?

In XP there is a microsoft link in the bottom left of Pravacy Center. Click it. That will open internet explorer. In the address bar just type “control panel” that will take you to the control panel where you go to system and do a system restore.
