Green AV is a rogue security application and a fake antivirus program. Green AV hopes to trick the user into thinking that it is a real program. The program hopes to scare the user into purchasing the program by displaying fake virus scan results. However, the program is fake and doesn’t work. Even on a new computer, a virus scan by Green AV will still show tens of fake virus infections.
The program will tell the user that their computer is infected and will use tactics to convince the user to purchase it. However, the program itself doesn’t work to remove viruses. It has a website which it uses to advertise the fake program. Green AV will use pop ups to constantly alert the user and possible scare them into purchasing the fake program.
